The Infinix Hot 7 Pro comes with pretty similar software and the same set of features as the Hot 7, so the same tips will apply for the Infinix Hot 7 and Hot 7 Pro.
With that said, Let’s start.
1. Navigation Gestures
I will like to first start with the navigation gestures. To enable them, you need to go to settings and then select system navigation.
Now select gesture navigation. Once you do that you can swipe from the right side to go back and from the left side for recent apps and swipe from the center to go home.
These are the same gestures that you can find even on Samsung phones.
Under the system navigation, you also the option of mix navigation. The same as the pixel phones or the new navigation gesture that you can find on Android Pie, but it’s not worth it so I would suggest you either stick with the keys or the gesture navigation.
2. One hand Mode.
Next, I will show you how you can use one-hand mode on the Infinix Hot 7. If you find the Hot 7 to be too large and if you want to use the phone with a single hand, hot 7 comes with a one-handed mode feature and to access it, you need to go to the toggles, and you have the toggle, and you find the one hand option.
Once you select it, the screen size will shrink, and now you can use your phone single-handedly.
3. Hide Notch on the Infinix Hot 7.
To hide the notch on the Infinix hot 7:
- Go to settings> select display> select notch area and then select the second option.
Once you do that area the notch is completely blacked out, and the notch doesn’t stick out too much.
4. OTG Pen Drive
If you want to use an OTG pen drive on this phone, it doesn’t work right out of the box.
For it to work on the Hot 7, go to settings> select connected devices and make sure you enable the OTG toggle.
Once you do that your phone will detect and enable the pen drive to work; otherwise, it just won’t work.
I am going to show you how to take a screenshot on the Infinix Hot 7 Pro. If you want to take a screenshot, press the volume down and power button both at the same time and your phone will take a screenshot.
Now another way to take a screenshot is by using the three-finger screenshot gesture. You can swipe down using three fingers to take a screenshot. However, if for some reason, that gesture is not working for you.
All you need to do is go to settings, then select action and gesture and make sure the “Take a screenshot with three fingers” toggle is enabled. Once enabled, you can then swipe down using three fingers to take a screenshot.
Next, if you want to take a more extended screenshot, this is what you need to do.
First, take a regular screenshot, you can either use the buttons or the three-finger gesture. Once it is done now click this button over here, the page will be scrolled automatically, and once it reaches the end, it will stop and give you a long screenshot.
That’s the easiest way to get a long screenshot on the Infinix Hot 7 Pro.
6. Tap to Wake.
The Infinix Hot 7 Pro has some pretty cool gestures so to check them out go to settings then select action and gestures.
First, we have a tap to wake. Once you enable this feature, you can double-tap the screen when the phone is sleeping to wake it up. If you are using face unlock feature, you need to double-tap the screen to wake it up, it sees your face and then opens the phone.
It’s a pretty cool way to unlock the phone.
Next, we have the Music gesture. Once you enable this gesture, there is a quick tutorial that displays on your screen.
You can swipe down on a blank area to play, swipe left to the previous song, swipe right for the next song and swipe up for pause.
The next gesture is the Flip mute. Once you enable this feature every time, you get a call. You can flip your phone to silence it.
It’s another pretty cool gesture on the Infinix Hot 7.
By the way, I forgot to mention this, if you enable tapping wake, that’s double-tap to wake feature you can double-tap on an empty area on your home screen to lock your phone as well.
So now you can double-tap the screen to wake it up, use face unlock to unlock the phone and double tap in an empty area on your home screen to lock the device.
Battery Status bar
If you want to display the battery percentage on the status bar, this is what you need to do.
- Go to settings, and once you’re in settings.
- Select the battery lab and
- Enable the battery percentage toggle.
Once you do that you can see the battery percentage inside the battery icon.
Change default settings.
Now going on next I’m going to show you how you can change your default launcher, default browser, default phone dialer and messaging application.
Again, you need to go the settings, then select apps and notification, now select default apps.
From this page, you can change your default browser to something like Google Chrome or Firefox. You can also change your default gallery application, default launcher.
You can also change your phone, dialer app and SMS application. So this is something I would recommend you to do.
Battery Saving Features
The Infinix Hot 7 Pro comes with a lot of cool battery-saving features. To enable them:
- Go to the battery lab.
- Select professional settings.
The first one that I suggest you do is tweak with battery saver mode.
Hot 7 Pro has a feature that automatically turns on battery saver mode when the phone reaches a certain battery percentage. So turn it on and set the battery percentage, and once it reaches that particular battery percentage, the battery saver will turn on automatically.
The device also has a pretty unique feature called Whatsapp mode, so once you enable this feature except for WhatsApp, all other applications will not have access to the internet in the background.
Let’s say you’re using Facebook or Instagram, as long as you are using those applications you can still use the internet, you can check out the latest feeds and check out photos, but once you close them except for WhatsApp, no other application will have access to the Internet.
It is a cool feature and can save a lot of battery life.
I would recommend you to turn it on for better battery life.
