Infinix Note 6 specifications: Design, performance and battery

The Infinix Note 6 is a successor to the Infinix Note 5 that almost everyone loved, and the Note 6 hasn’t changed that much when it comes to design.

In this post, I’m going to do a complete review of the device for you guys and give you my thoughts about the Infinix Note 6. But before I begin, please kindly hit on the subscribe button to this blog by turning your post notifications so you won’t miss out on future content.

Design of the Infinix Note 6.

The Infinix Note 6 looks and feels very familiar. It looks almost like a Note 5 stylus apart from the camera positioning. It feels excellent and compacts, and at 7.5mm thin, it is lighter than last year Note 5.

The build quality of the Note 6 is excellent just like last year Note 5 stylus, but when you look at the current design trends on the latest smartphones, it begins to look and feels outdated.

It looks old and to tell you the truth, nothing too exciting about this design here, so if you care so much about designs, I would advise you to look elsewhere.

On the right side of the Infinix Note 6, we have the power button that has a pattern on it with the yellow panting to help you quickly differentiate between the power button and volume rocker keys that are located right next to it. On the left side, we have the sim slot that houses a dual nano-SIM and a micro SD card.

Looking at the bottom of the Infinix note 6, there is the headphone jack, a microphone, a micro USB charging ports. At the top, you’ve got nothing. On the back of the device, we’ve got the three cameras, a dual flash, fingerprint scanner, the Infinix branding, and the NOTE branding at the lower part of the phone.

The Note 6 has a 6.1 inch full HD+ AMOLED display, and on top of that display is a 16MP selfie camera with a single flash. So, this time, Infinix switches to an AMOLED display on this device, and I’ll tell you it is very sharp with much-saturated colors, right viewing angles, excellent color accuracy, and it is bright outdoors.

The full HD+ AMOLED display, which is a 1080×2160 pixel resolution, is a step ahead in what we had last year on the Infinix Note 5. According to Infinix, it has a contrast ratio of 100,000:1, and this claim might be valid because it is very pleasing to consume media on the device.

Performance of Infinix Note 6.

On the spec sheets, the Infinix Note 6 has a Mediatek Helio P35 Octa-core CPU that clocked at 2.3 gigahertz based on the 12-nanometer processing platform.

The 4GB of RAM, a 4,000mAh battery, 64GB of internal storage expandable via microSD card, and XOS 5.0 cheetah on top of Android nine pie with all of these, performance is OK.

During the limited time I spent with the device, performance is very ok. I haven’t noticed any performance drop so far. However, there is something still missing here that’s the smooth stock Android experience we have from last year Note 5 is gone.

Don’t get me wrong, the Note 6 is quite impressive, but you notice performance drop coming from the Note 5 and the reason for that is the preloaded XOS launcher on top of Android 9 pie. It comes with too many bloatware and unnecessary ads that cost performance drop most times. If the Note 6 had kept the stock Android nature, it would have been the best Note series ever from Infinix.

So the Note series continues to improve on note takings and joint capabilities year after year, and Note 6 here is no difference. The Note app has some minor improvement, and the X-pen latency has a slight increase as well. The x-pen also comes with a small reminder that tells you to insert the pen back to avoid loss or battery drain. Note 6 comes with modern security features you find on today’s smartphone, which is a fingerprint and face unlock, and they work well.

Infinix Note 6 Camera

The Infinix Note 6 comes with a triple camera at the back, which is a 16MP primary sensor with an F/1.8 aperture and 8MP with a 120-degree field of view and a 2MP def sensor. On the front side, we have a 16MP selfie shooter with air support, and from what I’ve seen so far, the images from the array, and selfie camera are very ok.

Battery.

Note 6 comes with 4000mAh battery, and judging from most new Infinix devices that have the same battery capacity, you will never have any issue with the battery lasting for more than a full day.

Now the question is, will I recommend Note 6 for someone to buy? The answer is yes, and no. Yes, in the sense that if drawing and taking down notes on a smartphone is your most priority or you want to get into the Note family and enjoy all the possibilities that come with it own without minding the aging design, then get one in a hurry.

And it is a no if you already own the last year Note 5 because nothing much has changed apart from the display and minor improvement on the camera and the note app.
